Hawaii Ocean Project is a locally and family owned and operated tour excursion company that has been serving Hawai'i’s residents and visitors for over 40 years, having operated along the shores of Maui, Oahu, Lana'i and Moloka'i.

We look forward to every whale season, when we can share these majestic animals with all of Hawaii’s visitors.

We promote education and have been a part of research for the past four decades. 

We operate Hawaii’s largest and most spacious boats, departing from both the island of Maui and Oahu.

On the island of Oahu, our boat departs from the Ala Wai Harbor in the Waikiki section of Honolulu.

On Maui, our boats depart from the South Loading Dock in Ma’alaea Harbor while we wait for our beloved Lahaina town to be rebuilt.

Owner, Captain Dave, has been sailing in the Hawaiian waters since 1971.  He was joined by his wife, Captain Michelle, whose passion for the ocean has led them to make boating their full-time obsession.

Though they lost their home in the devastating fires of August 2023 they did not lose their sense of adventure and hope you will join them on Oahu.
